Categories

Categories help organize knowledge base articles by topic.

Creating a Category

  1. Go to Knowledge BaseCategories

  2. Click Create Category

  3. Enter category name

  4. Select parent category (optional)

  5. Click Save

Category Parameters

Category name (e.g., "Delivery")

Parent Category

For creating nesting (optional)

Category Hierarchy

Categories can be nested within each other:

   📁 Electronics
      📁 Smartphones
      📁 Laptops
   📁 Home Appliances
📁 Delivery
📁 Payment
📁 Warranty

Managing Categories

Editing

  1. Find the category in the list

  2. Click the edit icon

  3. Change the parameters

  4. Click Save

Copying

  1. Find the category in the list

  2. Click Copy

  3. A copy will be created with all nested articles

Deletion

  1. Find the category in the list

  2. Click the delete icon

  3. Confirm deletion

Warning: When deleting a category, articles are not deleted but lose their connection to this category.

Search and Filtering

  • Use search for quick category lookup

  • Pagination helps navigation with large numbers of categories

Recommendations

  • Create a logical category structure

  • Don't make too many nesting levels (2-3 is sufficient)

  • Use clear names

  • Group articles by topic
